A customer required a customized automatic pump controller to intelligently manage two pumps based on real-time pressure while ensuring balanced pump usage, dry-run protection, and simple operator control. Standard controllers could not meet these application-specific requirements 

Our Solution

Olive Controls designed and manufactured a custom industrial pump controller with two 4–20 mA pressure transmitter inputs for continuous pressure monitoring.

The controller automatically alternates between two pumps. When Pump 1 reaches the user-defined cut-off pressure, it stops. As the pressure falls to the preset threshold, Pump 2 starts automatically, ensuring equal pump utilization and uninterrupted process operation.

To safeguard the equipment, a configurable Dry Run Timer stops the pump during low-water or dry-run conditions, preventing damage and reducing maintenance costs.

A 4-line backlit LCD display provides real-time information including Pump running status  (Manual/Automatic mode), running time, set pressure, and actual pressure for easy monitoring.

Outcome

The customized automatic pump controller improved system reliability, balanced pump operating hours, protected equipment from dry running, and reduced maintenance—delivering a solution precisely engineered for the customer's process.

A leading flowmeter manufacturer approached Olive Controls with a unique requirement for a panel-mounted Flow Rate & Totaliser Indicator capable of accepting RS-485 Modbus RTU input. The solution had to meet stringent performance requirements and be developed within a demanding project timeline.
